School Trips
We love going on trips
Going on trips is a great way to generate interest and excitement in a topic, bring everything learnt in a topic together and create memories that can last a life time. Some of our classes go on six or more trips during the year. Here are some of the exciting places our children have visited:
- Harry Potter World – going behind the scenes of the Harry Potter films
- Safe Wise, Bournemouth – learning how to stay safe through role play and life like scenarios
- Oceanarium and beach at Bournemouth – going under the sea and in the sea
- Kidzania, London – role play for KS2
- Furzey Gardens – out in the forest being observant
- Longleat Safari Park – finding out about animals and their habitats
- Paultons Park – experiencing the effects of forces on our bodies
- Junior Good Citizen – learning to stay safe through workshops and role play
- Adventure Wonderland, Hurn – a great way to end the year in KS1
- Winchester Science Museum – plenty of hands on investigation work here
- Poole Museum – living the life of a pirate
- Titanic Museum and Art Gallery, Southampton – investigating the sinking of the Titanic
- Stratford – 3 day residential including visits to Cadbury World and Warwick Castle
- Eden Project – 3 day residential trip with workshops exploring the biomes and grounds
- Moors Valley Country Park – hunting for minibeasts out in the woods
- Marwell Zoo – finding out about animals and their habitats
- Legoland, Windsor – using forces to have fun and make things
- Waitrose and Pizza Express, Salisbury – learning where our food comes from and how to cook it
- Tudor House, Southampton – exploring life in Tudor times
- Salisbury Playhouse – enjoying watching a pantomime together
- London - Globe Theatre and British Museum, including a walk down the South Bank and tube journeys
- Lulworth Cove – 3 day residential trip including day trips to the Tank Museum and Weymouth Aquarium with fish and chips on the beach
- Glastonbury - 3 day residential trip including visits to Wookey Hole caves, Glastonbury Abbey and the watersports centre on Cheddar Reservoir
- Cinema Trips - making the most of free tickets as part of Into Film Festival week
- Goldenacres Garden Centre – finding out how to care for a lot of plants in one place
- Salisbury Fire Station – so see how the Fire Brigade can help when we need them
- Marchwood Energy Recovery Facility – investigating how rubbish can be turned into energy
- Salisbury Cathedral and Stonehenge – comparing places of worship
- Hengistbury Head – looking for changes to the coastline made by the sea
- Farm visit – observing signs of spring and feeding the lambs
We like to record our experiences by capturing stills and video using the cameras on our iPads. We can then use these as part of our continued learning through the Seesaw app, which is our digital learning platform and some pictures will appear on the School’s Facebook pages too.
