We are the School of our Community
We are the school that serves the children from the communities of Morgan's Vale, Woodfalls, Redlynch and Lover as defined by the Parishes of St Birinus Church, Woodfalls and St Mary's Church, Lover.
The school is very inclusive of every child that lives in our catchment regardless of ability, race, background, religious beliefs, gender or disability.
We are often out in the community learning about local history, exploring in the woods at Tinneys Firs, singing for the Luncheon Club at Woodfalls Village Hall or Ashley Grange, paying our respects at the war memorial on Remembrance Day.
We also welcome the community into school whenever we can for our daily Collective Worship, International Days (children 'fly' out from the airport in the school hall to 'visit' countries from around the world, this year we went to Africa), our services at Harvest, Christmas and Easter, Eco Days and for school performances. Sometimes we have special Maths or Reading events and welcome parents and grandparents in to join us.
Often the community come into us. Member of the St Birinus and St Mary's congregations take our Wednesday Collective Worship each week when they 'Open the Book', many members of the community come in to hear our children read, our children really enjoy it when people come into school to share their experiences, skills or knowledge.
